Electronic Arts and Motive Studios revealed tons of new information regarding Star Wars Battlefront II The new game will release on November 17, 2017 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 with a fleshed out single-player campaign that will be canonical to the Star Wars universe, multiple player classes to choose from and all eras from the film saga represented in-game with new playable hero characters, ships, locales to visit. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Many fans agreed that what the previous Star Wars Battlefront was missing was a story-driven campaign. As a tie-in with the upcoming Rogue One sequel novel, Christie Golden's Star Wars Battlefront II: Inferno Squad (which releases July 25), the game will follow the novel's main character, Iden Versio, and her squadron in between the events of Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. It looks like there will be plenty to chew on when it comes to story content for this Battlefront game. Iden confronts both Luke Skywalker and the programmed stand-in of Emperor Palpatine (which was introduced in the comic series Star Wars: Shattered Empire) in the trailer, which you can watch below.

In multiplayer and episodic flashbacks, the Star Wars Celebration panel guests said there will be new playable heroes and villains from the franchise, such as Rey and Darth Maul. A more specialized class system was also announced, including models for what different units from Star Wars would look like in the new game. Space battles will also make a return.

There will also be a co-op mode in which players can play locally through splitscreen (on consoles only) and use upgrades found in this mode in online multiplayer as well. According to EA, character customization is also receiving a greater focus this time around.

For all editions of the game, preorder bonuses are now available; hero characters from Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be released with the game for those who preorder Star Wars Battlefront II.
