The fighting game genre is one of the most important to have a good framerate for, with those extra frames allowing your inputs to be mirrored by your fighter that much faster. Sometimes those extra frames really do make all the difference. Of course, that means that many will want to know exactly what the framerate will be for the newly unveiled Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Nintendo has already stepped forward to answer that: a solid 60 fps, in both docked and handheld mode.
While the framerate will be the same, handheld mode will take a bit of a hit in the resolution department, but no more than is usual for Switch games. Ultimate will run at 1080p resolution when docked, while handheld mode will output visuals at 720p.
