Telltale Games has officially announced that Minecraft: Story Mode will continue for Season 2 with five all-new episodes. After becoming the world's greatest living hero, Jesse's life just got more complicated. Needing to navigate social dynamics new and old, our famous champion starts this adventure by trapping his hand in a cursed prismarine gauntlet belonging to an ancient underwater temple.
"The first episode, Hero in Residence, will be available for download starting July 11 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices." — Telltale Games blog
Picking up where you left off, the game will remember Season 1's choices, but is equally accessible for newly joining players. A 'Crowd Play' feature will also allow community voting on story choices via mobile devices.
"Joined by a motley band of familiar faces, fortune hunters, sometime enemies and one deeply disobedient llama, there will be tough choices, peril aplenty and no shortage of People Who Will Remember That." — Minecraft official website
Season 2's voice cast will feature Patton Oswalt, Catherine Taber, Ashley Johnson, and Scott Porter. Telltale Games also tweeted that cameos from "[Stampy Cat], stacysays, and other personalities from the Minecraft community on YouTube" will appear.
While the Minecraft community is sharing the hype over the announcement, we're staying tuned to Telltale Games' official blog for "[more info] soon." In the meantime, enjoy the image gallery courtesy of Minecraft's announcement post.
