Telltale's closure announcement couldn't have come at a worse time for fans of The Walking Dead. The Walking Dead: The Final Season is only halfway completed but, due to the coming closure, will not currently be finished. There is hope, but only if another company swoops in to finish the remaining two episodes. As a result of this inability to complete the promised content, sales of The Walking Dead: The Final Season have been indefinitely halted across digital platforms.
Telltale posted the following on the game's Steam page:
ATTENTION: We have removed season passes for The Walking Dead: The Final Season from stores for the time being. We're currently still working to find a way to hand off production of episodes 3 and 4 so that the season can be completed. The outcome of those efforts will determine when and how The Final Season returns to stores. We hope to have a firm announcement before the end of the week. For now, we apologize for any inconvenience. — Telltale Games
While it may seem like an obvious move, it's nice to see Telltale looking out for potential consumers, protecting them from buying a half-finished product. Now if only they would look out for their former employees as well.
