In the past few years, we’ve seen a plethora of AAA titles fail to meet their sales expectations, such as Dead Space 3, which needed to sell 5 million copies to turn a profit, and Tomb Raider, which was deemed a financial failure despite reaching sales figures north of 3.4 million. This hasn’t caused Ubisoft to feel uncomfortable though; the publisher has predicted that its own upcoming AAA title Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will ship over 10 million copies.

Noteworthy to mention is that this figure will be smaller than that of Assassin’s Creed III, which managed to sell 12.5 million copies. While it's not going beat its predecessor, 10 million copies should be more than enough to turn a profit in a branch of the industry that has gone through tumultuous times.

Assassin’s Creed IV will be released worldwide on the 29th of October on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, while PC, Xbox One, Wii U, and PlayStation 4 releases will vary depending on your continent. Will you pick up a copy?
