Nintendo bucked the trend years ago of hosting a big, live press conference in favor of an online-only stream of a prerecorded video, and it certainly seems to have worked out for them! This year Nintendo is back with yet another E3 Direct, and of course, the big piece of news that everyone is waiting for is Smash Bros. The Switch game was announced earlier this year, but we're still awaiting that final, official confirmation over whether it's a port of the Wii U / 3DS titles, a wholly original entry in the series, or something in between.

On top of that, there are plenty of other series that we could use an update on—Fire Emblem, Bayonetta 3, Yoshi, and several more all immediately spring to mind—and rumors of new third-party games arriving that we'd love to see confirmed. Plus yesterday's hints of YouTube and Netflix apps... The possibilities are endless, but we'll soon see which ones are actually realized.

We've got the stream up above for you to watch it for yourself, and we'll be reporting all the news as it comes out. Nintendo's E3 Direct is scheduled to start at 9:00 AM PT / 12:00 PM ET, so get ready, everyone. It's almost time!
