It's not quite the apocalypse we were expecting, but we may very well be approaching the end of the world for the community of Miis inside of your Wii U. Recent datamining into the Wii U's most recent updates has shown traces that Nintendo is planning on halting their support for the Miiverse service that launched alongside the console five years ago.

The dataminers were able to find the following text regarding the Miiverse in the update:

"The Miiverse service has ended. Miiverse and any software features that make use of Miiverse are now unavailable."

The bulletin board styled app is also available on the Nintendo 3DS, but it hasn't made its way to the Nintendo Switch. If the app does not end up coming to the Switch, Miiverse will likely disappear and the service could be shuttered for good.

Nintendo has not yet commented on the text that was discovered, but it's likely that they'll make a statement soon about when or if the community board service will reach its end.
