YIIK: A Postmodern RPG is a strange and entrancing adventure set in the '90s and developed by indie team Ackk Studios. Although I quite enjoyed it, one of my biggest gripes was that the Switch version had lengthy loading times before each fight, often between 10 and 15 seconds. Given that the overworld has randomly-spawning encounters, it could make traversal a bit frustrating at times.
Thankfully, Ackk Studios has been working on a patch, and they recently detailed what it includes. In a series of recent Twitter posts, Ackk Studio indicated that the upcoming patch will fix Switch-specific bugs, improve the game's balance, and greatly reduce load times. They later indicated that it would also improve frame rates in dungeon areas. As of the most recent update, load times for battles has been reduced to about 4.4 seconds, or roughly 1/3 of the time it took at launch. This should make the game significantly more enjoyable, especially for people who have little patience for gameplay interruptions.
