Nintendo Switch has been hard to come by since it released on March 3rd. Most people interested in the new console have had to resort to purchasing it from scalpers. If you still haven't bought one, though, you may be in luck soon, as GameStop will be receiving a restock later this week.
Eric Bright, senior director of merchandising for GameStop, released a statement about the restock and promised to get more systems to customers as fast as possible:
"GameStop continues to see strong demand from customers who are looking to purchase the Nintendo Switch system. We are meeting this demand by securing additional systems as fast as we can to ensure customers are able to purchase this innovative gaming technology. The customer enthusiasm and response we have seen so far has been incredible as we continue to sell through our supply of systems. We strongly suggest any customer who is still looking to purchase a Nintendo Switch, visit one of our stores as soon as they can. This new allotment will go fast!" — Eric Bright
It is important to note that the consoles are limited to one per household to ensure that scalpers don't buy the entire stock. You should also keep in mind that the stock will be very limited and the company expects to sell them very fast. For example, my store is only getting five. You can probably contact your local GameStop to find out just how good of a chance you have with picking one up this week. The new systems are expected to arrive by Wednesday.
