Blizzard recently starting teasing a new reveal for Overwatch with the tagline "calm before the storm." Many speculated that we'd be seeing a new level, but as it turns out, we're getting a new playable character. Hero number 28 has just officially been revealed, and it's a pretty big departure from the heroes we've seen so far.

Another update is on the way for Super Bomberman R. The 2017 Switch title has just been ported to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Steam, and with that is coming a plethora of new characters and a new mode. Konami's pulling out the "big guns" this time, with characters from its beloved Metal Gear series and more entering the fray.

During E3 we got our first look at the next game from Dontnod Entertainment, the talented team behind the Life is Strange franchise. The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit is set in the same universe as Life is Strange, and choices made in the game will carry over to Life is Strange 2. Just two weeks after its E3 showing, Captain Spirit is already available to download completely for free.

Sonic's new kart-racing game, Team Sonic Racing, will be hitting stores later this year. With Team Sonic and Team Dark already revealed, SEGA has finally revealed the next team of three to join the ranks of Team Sonic Racing: Team Rose.

After months of rumors and reports, we finally got confirmation earlier this month that a new Devil May Cry game is on the way. Capcom gave us our first look at Devil May Cry 5 during Microsoft's E3 2018 press conference, and the reveal trailer announced a Spring 2019 release window. Since then, popular Japanese publication Famitsu has revealed more details about the game's progression, plot, and mechanics.

Overwatch recently celebrated its second anniversary, and developer Blizzard has kept their team-based hero shooter popular with regular updates, including new playable characters to steal our hearts, new maps to master, and new game modes to spice up the action. With the anniversary event in the rear view mirror, it's time once again to look to the future. What's next for Overwatch? We're not sure, but Blizzard is definitely teasing something.

While Life is Strange fans expected Dontnod Entertainment to reveal the second season to the acclaimed franchise at E3, the developer surprised us all by revealing the related The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit instead. Have no fear though, Dontnod isn't keeping us hanging. A trailer released earlier today revealed that the first of five episodes for Life is Strange 2 is launching on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC on September 27th. Unfortunately, the trailer didn't reveal anything about the story this time around, though further information is set to be revealed this August.

We're entering into a golden age of online gaming that was once only dreamed about. As more and more developers work together, an increasing number of games now feature online cross-play between numerous platforms, including Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile. Sony, however, has been much more hesitant to join in on the fun. What's their motivation for refusing to join the greater online community? According to a former President at the company, it's all about the money.

Playing video games is a wonderful pastime, but it's also an expensive one. Most AAA titles come with a $60 price tag, and that doesn't even include the inevitable DLC and possible microtransactions. Fortunately, publishers occasionally make the effort to get some of their best titles into the hands of gamers on a budget. Nintendo has been doing this for years with their Nintendo Selects program, and now Sony is following suit.

As one of the world's largest gaming conventions, E3 is home to mega-hits from well-known franchises like Super Smash Bros., Resident Evil, and Kingdom Hearts. While these games have certainly earned their place in the spotlight, one of the greatest joys of E3 is discovering hidden gems that aren't already household names.

If you know where to look, E3 is also home to passion projects from small, independent teams hoping to share their digital babies with the world. One of the best at this year's show was 3 Minutes to Midnight, a point-and click-adventure from the up and coming Scarecrow Studios. Located on a laptop at a small booth at the edge of South Hall, 3 Minutes to Midnight had a minor presence on the floor, but it left a major impact. Head inside for my impressions!

E3 has just wrapped up in Los Angeles, and several Gamnesia staff members got the opportunity to peruse the show floor over the past week, trying out upcoming games from numerous developers big and small. We're all pretty exhausted and glad to be back in the comfort of our own homes, but we also had a great time and played a lot of exciting games.

Before ending our trip, we all met up in the hotel one last time to record our impressions from three days on the show floor, including our thoughts from our extensive hands-on time with Super Smash Bros. My Hero Academia's anime adaptation reached new heights of excitement with yesterday's episode, and there's still so much more yet to come. If you're hooked on the show and want to experience more of that world, you'll want to check out My Hero: One's Justice, Bandai Namco's take on the popular manga and anime series. During E3 we received a new trailer and a release window for the upcoming 3D fighter, and we also got to go hands-on.

Having DLC become available for games post-launch has become a common sight in the industry in recent years, but the Kingdom Hearts franchise has yet to embrace such practices. That may be changing for Kingdom Hearts III, as a new interview from IGN with series creator and director Tetsuya Nomura has revealed that he would like to include post-launch content in the game. At the moment, he doesn't know what that content might be, though he does have some ideas.

Last year's E3 gave us a trailer that would stun audiences, with a story that will dive into the depths of HP Lovecraft's beloved story The Call of C'thuhlu. Staying true to the investigative spirit of the story, the title brings us face-to-face with the cosmic beings outside our human understanding and plunges us into the mystical horrors of the Lovecraftian universe. A new trailer released on YouTube provides a surprising treat for Lovecraft fans of this day and age, while also giving us a look at the powers that be.

Fortnite finally launched for the Nintendo Switch this week and already eclipsed two million downloads, yet depending on who you ask, its release was not pretty. The match made in heaven between Nintendo's hit hybrid system and the most popular battle royale game on the planet was seen coming a mile away, but the anticipated union came at a cost none were privy to before a rocky release.
