Crysis is the one series out there that is known more for how it benchmark tests consoles and PCs more so than  it's known for being a fantastic game. That being said, Crysis 3 definitely does look good. It's a shooter, it's gorgeous, and it's a sandbox game. It definitely has its cult following and it's something to at least keep an eye on if you care about seeing the seventh generation consoles pushed to their ultimate peak of processing power. Have you ever actually played the Crysis series? I own Crysis 2, but only to benchmark some PC parts I had at the time. I just couldn't bring myself to enjoy the game itself.

Bonus Round has always been one of my favorite discussion oriented shows because it doesn't just dismiss parts of the industry based on personal bias, and instead keeps a very open mind to how everything affects the industry. In this episode, they talk of the future of consoles in 2013. For the Wii U, they want to see software in general. Not just the next Zelda or Metroid, but new core IPs, as well. Of course, this gets echoed for the other consoles, too. At this point, people are just worried about the console's place in the living room. Can all three survive this eighth generation?

Ubisoft has disclosed that Rayman Legends will no longer be a Wii U exclusive, and has been once again delayed to release simultaneously with its Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 counterparts. Confirmed in a press release from Ubisoft, EMEA Cheif Marketing & Sales Officer Geoffroy Sardin explains the company's thinking behind making the game multi-platform. Hit the jump to read more.

Today, many new screenshots and videos were unveiled for Remember Me, a sci-fi video game that takes place in the year 2084, a refrence to the dystopian novel 1984 by George Orwell. The game takes place in a futuristic version of Paris, and it concerns themes such as society's divide between the rich and poor, totalitarianism, and, most importantly, memories. The main character is Nilin, a lovely lady who has had here memories removed from her. As she journeys to gain back her lost memories, she eventually becomes concerned with starting a revolution and loosen the tight grip the government has on the city.

More info concerning the game can be found after the jump.

Today, Famitsu has confirmed the rumor that Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge will be making its way to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The once exclusive Wii U rerelease has, among things, an improved combat system, fewer quick-time events, revised enemy AI, and an insane amount of variety. Many of the original complaints have been fixed, and the rerelease has been well received. The first release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, on the other hand, got very bad reviews. IGN gave it a 3 out of 10, but the rerelease got a  much better 7.6. As Nemo_Griffin says in the IGN review comments: "You can polish a turd."

What do you think? Will the title see even more improvements? Or will it be worse? Sound off in the comments.

The latest issue of Game Informer is out, and while they've already revealed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with a quick follow up response from CDProjekt, we haven't had a real good look yet as to what the game actually looks like, per sé. That ends today with all the screenshots contained within the latest Game Informer issue released. It looks pretty impressive on some fronts for those who are new to the series, but on the other hand, I personally feel it looks a lot like The Witcher 2 without much of a significant improvement. Now, it is a "next-gen" game so this could further show that "next-gen" doesn't necessarily translate anymore into blowing our minds visually. It's also possible these are just early build shots based on the only engine. Either, way I am excited. Hop inside to see all of the screens in their original glory.

Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli has announced that their Vigil Games derived USA studio will cease development of Darksiders 3. In a recent interview with GamesBeat, Yerli revealed why Crytek was hesitant in bidding on Vigil during THQ's property auction, and how the new addition to the Darksiders franchise wouldn't fit their strategy. Sony is ending its partnership with SuperBot Entertainment, the developer of Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale. This is due to underwhelming sales of the title, which surely hasn't met Sony's expectations. By cutting ties with the studio, SuperBot is unable to work on Battle Royale any longer, and production of future content will be moved to Sony’s Santa Monica Studio.

Early reports suggested that SuperBot would cease to exist without Sony's support, but director of operations David Yang confirmed that the studio will continue to develop independently.

SuperBot Entertainment can confirm that the relationship with SCEA has ended on good terms. We are extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to work on with Sony on Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, and are extremely proud of the work we have done. SuperBot Entertainment will continue working on projects that reflect our passion for games and our commitment to creating award winning titles. We are very excited about beginning the next chapter of our future and invite all of our fans and supporters to follow our journey. - David Yang

On the heels of Game Informer's reveal of The Witcher 3, CDProjekt has released the above teaser trailer along with a nice bit of press material. Contained in that material is the announcement that this game will be the final chapter for Geralt and the final game in The Witcher series. The reasoning? They want to go out on a high note, which is something to admire in the day and age where popular franchises tend to overstay their welcomes.

This material also talks about how The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is going to appeal to long standing fans as well as make an excellent entry point for new fans to the series. Of course, again, this just makes it all the more wanting for Wii U fans. Unfortunately they are specifically saying "high-end" next-gen systems, which will likely rule Nintendo fans out. Still, PC, Sony, and Microsoft fans have one heck of an experience coming their way in 2014. Check out the press release after the jump.

The Witcher series is arguably one of the best new series to hit the games industry in a good while. Thanks to our friends over at Game Informer, we now have a wealth of information about their exclusive reveal of this highly anticipated title. The Witcher 3 was officially unveiled in their print magazine with a wealth of additional details to team up with the online announcement. Those details and concept art after the jump.

The Escapist : Jimquisition : Dead Space - The Best New IP This Generation?

Dead Space is an amazing franchise with great gameplay and a good story. I like it very much, but Jim Sterling thinks it might even be the best new IP of this generation. I think that it depends on your taste—if you don't like horror games, you'll probably dislike Dead Space. That's why it is very subjective to say that a game is the best of its generation. Others probably don't agree.

I like Assassin's Creed more than Dead Space. I love the historical settings, Those Who Came Before, the Pieces of Eden... To me, it's the best new franchise this generation.

What's your favorite IP this generation? Let us know in the comments!
The Last of Us is shaping up to be an amazing title—one of the best of 2013, perhaps. The upcoming game also focuses a lot more on survival horror than you would think. While it has been known for a while that there would be infected people in the game, not many expected it to be quite so focused on fear. According to Greg Miller of IGN, a big part of the experience of The Last of Us is the sound, which really stands out.

"After actually playing The Last of Us, it’s not the beautiful graphics, the brutal violence, or the approachable crafting system that stands out to me. It’s the sound. The Last of Us isn’t Uncharted, with its happy score wafting over every moment of gameplay. It’s a slow, suspenseful crawl through a world that can kill you at any moment. As such, it’s quiet – eerily quiet. You have time to listen to the rain pitter patter on windows and each breath of the infected you’re creeping up on to shiv in the neck." — Greg Miller, IGN

The rumor train just keeps rolling! According to Clever Noob user TSA_383, patch 1.05 is set to radically shift the Mass Effect formula.

TSA_383 claims to have found data in the patch to back up the following description of the new "Reckoning" DLC:

"The day of reckoning is nigh! The Reckoning Multiplayer Expansion brings six new never before seen co-op story missions to the game and new co-op gameplay modes. It provides four new maps to conquer and hazard variations of the Earth maps. It also enables reinforcement packs that offer new kits for the salarians, krogans, humans and volus. In-game reinforcement packs now include three new weapons (Chakram Launcher, Blood Pack Punisher and Adas Anti-Synthetic Rifle)."

So far, this leak has gotten no official confirmation or denial from BioWare, so I make no claims that this rumor is valid; however, if it does turn out true, then gamers everywhere will be able to cooperatively play a few story missions with friends and family. I'm a big fan of co-op gaming, so I'm hoping that this ends up being true.

What do you think of this rumor? True? Fake? Amazing?

God of War: AscensionGod of War: Ascension arrives on the Playstation 3 on March 12th, but why wait that long to see how the game begins? The first 30 minutes are rather interesting. As someone who has never played the series but admired it from afar I must admit, this might just be the title that finally drags me into the madness. See, Greek mythology and all that jazz has always been a interesting aspect of history to me and while all "made up", it doesn't take away the vibes I get out of the first 30 minutes above. How I have skipped this series over for so many years in beyond me. Sure, I like my Wii U despite whatever flaws are still present (Hey Activision, two updates later and I still can't play Black Ops II on the Wii U), but I wont deny that Sony has some great original content themselves.

Are you looking forward to marching your way through Greek mythological madness yet again as Kratos?

Let me start out this giant story by simply stating that much of this is rumor, while some of it is confirmed as fact. This is a culmination of a slew of news stories that have been rapidly spreading across the net all gathered into one spot. If something is a rumor in this piece it will simply be stated as such to avoid confusion. Here is what we know is for certain: Sony is holding a conference on February 20th to discuss the "Future of PlayStation." Essentially, as many have been reporting and confirming (though still a rumor), the PlayStation 4 is getting it's reveal that day.

Everything else from this point on has not been confirmed and as such should be treated as a rumor, but it still comes from reliable sources. Hit the jump to see what's possibly in-store!
