"As the Mother 3 rumor is sort of died down by now, and as Emily Rogers seems to have mostly correct information, do you think the game could actually still be translated and localized for the Wii U, or rather 'switched' over to the Nintendo Switch instead?"

This was one of the listener questions answered on this week's episode of Nintendo Week, our Nintendo-themed podcast here at Gamnesia. Check out the video above for our response, or keep reading below for a brief, brief summary.

It seems to us most likely that Mother 3 is translated and ready to go when the time is right, and because of Wii U's painful decline in 2016, it will likely be timed for Nintendo Switch's Virtual Console instead. We think it'll still be released on Wii U, and we absolutely still think the official localization is happening—just look how vocal the demand is—so we think it's really just a matter of time.
